Types of Massages and their Benefits:

Swedish is a rudimental massage technique and is one of the most widely practiced type of massages that uses long gentle strokes, with smooth circular movements to relax, calm and warm-up the client's muscles before a deep tissue massage session. It is often used as a bridge to link other techniques since movements of the massage should flow together seamlessly, allowing for the therapist to maintain contact with the client for a smooth transition.

Deep Tissue is a deeper massage technique which focuses on more forceful strokes to target deep muscle layers releasing chronic muscle tension to the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and joints. It uses deep, kneading, and therapeutic techniques that uses circular motions to rotate the skin and underlying muscles, working out tension in the muscle. The motion brings much needed circulation to tight areas - as a muscle is compressed, stagnant blood is forced out of the area, and new blood rushes in.

Acupressure/Trigger Point Therapy, is often thought of as acupuncture without needles. Acupressure is a form of alternative medicine that uses fingers to gradually press key healing points in the body. When points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote circulation of blood to aid healing. Acupressure can be used to reduce muscle tension and relieve stress that can happen due to overuse of muscles. Each of our body's organs has corresponding reflex points on the feet and hands. Applying pressure to these points increases circulation, re-energizes and reduces stress.
